Emergency First Aid at Work

HSE Approved, complies with Health and safety (First Aid) regulations 1981

Duration: 1 day (6 hours)

Who is the Course For? Any member of an organisation who is likely to find themselves taking charge or who has been appointed to take charge of first aid equipment during a first aid emergency, in the absence of a qualified First Aider. This course has continuous assessment by the trainer to evaluate delegates. On successful completion of the course delegates will receive Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.

Course Content: Understand the role of the First Aider, including reference to: The importance of preventing cross infection, The need for recording incidents and actions, The use of available equipment, Assess the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency, Administer first aid to a casualty who is unconscious (including seizure), Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation, Administer first aid to a casualty who is choking, Administer first aid to a casualty who is wounded and bleeding, Administer first aid to a casualty who is suffering from shock, Provide appropriate first aid for minor injuries (including small cuts, grazes and bruises, minor burns and scalds, small splinters)
